VERY IMPORTANT: Since this is not a light-emitting product, my standard review format will not be used on this web page.

The 405nm Violet Laser Phosphor Target is just that: a target that glows when struck by the NUV radiation emitted by a laser using a Blu-ray laser diode. Actually, it will readily fluoresce (glow) when exposed to any radiation in the range of ~365nm to ~450nm.

The optical acrylic casing is filled with a rare-earth phosphor that is mixed with an epoxy binder, so there is no loose powder to accidentally dump all over the floor; it comes in a solid plastic-like mixture that is safe to handle.

To use the 405nm Violet Laser Phosphor Target, simply remove it from its storage case, the "mesh" padding, & the little ziplock baggie it comes in, and irradiate it with radiation ranging in wavelength from ~365nm (ultraviolet A) to ~450nm (royal blue).

According to the most recent listing on Ebay (05-18-10), the peak response of this phosphor is between 365nm and 405nm.

You'll see a greenish to whitish-green glow where it was irradiated.

When you're finished using it, place it back in the baggie, wrap it in that "mesh" padding it comes with, and stuff the whole affair into the snap-closure plastic storage case it is also furnished with.
