I've had this for quite a few years now, that's why it does not look brand spanken new in the above photograph!!!

This product does not emit light of its own, so the standard review format will not be used and the product will not be assigned a rating. This website is mostly about light-emitting products, but occasionally, you'll see non-light emitting products on it too if it's something I really like.

This is the Digimon D3 Digivice.
It features games and a pedometer (a device not that unlike an accelerometer) to use your footsteps to count toward your distance travelled in the digital world.

* This is the "going price" for them now (mid-April 2010) on Ebay; when I purchased mine in 2000 from the same venue (Ebay), I believe it cost less than $20.00.

I'd be lying if I didn't say that I was 45 and still liked Digimon -- but I like SpongeBob SquarePants and Viva Piñata as well.

Becuse this is a rather "complexicated" piece of equipment, I'll refer you to this web page so that you can learn how to use it.



To change the batteries in this digivice when the product goes tits-up (e.g. the display dims or goes completely out), turn it over, and use a small Phillips screwdriver (the #1 with a 2.90mm shaft diameter from my kit of jeweller's screwdrivers works like a charm) to unscrew the screw holding the battery door on. This screw is at least somewhat captive; one would have to make a fairly concerted effort to remove it.

Lift the battery door up, remove it, wait until Digimon is on TV and Greymon digivolves to ShineGreymon Burst Mode and is about to fire his Torrid Weiß, then huck it at the TV so that it gets melted...O WAIT!!! YOU'LL NEED THAT!!! So just set it aside instead.

Turn the D3 rightside-up again, gently tap it into the palm of your hand until the two used AG13 (LR44) button cells fall out, and dispose of or recycle them as you see fit.

Insert two new AG13 (LR44) button cells into the compartments for them, orienting them so that their flat-ends (+) positives face upward.

Place the battery door back on, and tighten that screw.
Aren't you glad that you didn't chuck that battery door at your boob tube now?



Here's a hint about how to get farther in your journey through the digital world: This product has a pedometer in it that advances your progress; you can shake the living tweedle out of it (you need not shake it vigorously; just shake it much more quickly than it would normally shake when walking) and "count" many more steps much more quickly than you otherwise might.


How this digivice might be carried on the pants wasteband to allow the pedometer to function.
