This is an unusual (but rather nifty) little gadget that splashes the inside of your computer case with violet light.

It has three violet LEDs, and is powered using any of the free Molex power supply plugs inside your computer's case; it includes another female power supply plug so that you don't lose one just by using this product.

To use the Violet LED Computer Case Light, start by taking one or both side panels of your computer case off.

Plug its male power connector into any handy female Molex power connector inside your computer. At this time, you may just play around with placement and deciding where it should go.

Screw it into any metal component of your computer case, using the screws that I believe are furnished.

Reassemble your computer case side(s), and be done with it.




The Violet LED Computer Case Light uses violet LEDs; and these LEDs were notorius for having exceptionally short lifetimes when this product was made (est. 2001 to possibly early-2002) -- time to halflife (50% intensity) was only a paltry 50 to 100 hours!!! Mine is considerably dimmer than it was when it was new; and I don't even have a lot of operational hours on mine.

They're considerably better now (early-2010), so that short lamp life should not be a put-off to purchasing one now. No guarantees here, but I don't think you'll be sorry anyway.

Its primary purpose though is not to illuminate the case interior itself, but to cause fluorescence (glowing) in some case components, such as cables, liquid CPU coolers, some types of fan blades, some types of labels, and the like.

It is not known where the product was manufactured.
A product's country of origin really does matter to some people, which is why I wanted to publish it on this web page.
