The Orange LED Light String is a battery-powered set of LED holiday lights (Halloween, in this case) that feature 18 orange SMD LEDs on a thin cord attached to a box containing two AA cells and the obligatory on/off switch.

This set can be used both for lighting up Halloween decorations (including those submerged in water or water-like liquids) and for adding light to Halloween costumes.

They are labelled as, "Everlasting Glow®" very probably because the set uses LEDs instead of hot, breakage-prone incandescent bulbs that ***WILL*** fail after a time (a few thousand hours tops when they aren't shaken or even moved) whether you want them to or not...the way these LEDs are driven, their lifetime could indeed be measured in hundreds of thousands of hours!

Feed the lights first (see directly below), and then you can go decorate that porch.

String these up as you would ordinary (corded) seasonal lights, but handle them carefully because the wires are considerably thinner than the wires are on corded sets. Hang them on porches, mantles, doorways, or other places where you might normally hang light sets.

You may also submerge the string itself into a water-filled vase or other receptacle or even decorate your Halloween costume with them.

To turn them on, slide that little black switch on the upper-right side of the battery box toward the "on" legend. To turn them off, slide the switch to the "off" position (toward the center of the battery box).

To change the batteries, slide the battery door off in the direction of the embossed label on it, and throw it into a graveyard full of rotting stinky zombies so that they become upset at it and stomp on or even whip out their {vulgar slang term for multiple male tallywhackers; seven letters, starts with "p" and ends with "s", rhymes with "wreckers"} and uranate on it...O WAIT!!! YOU'LL NEED THAT!!! So just set it aside instead.

If necessary, remove and dispose of or recycle the 2 used AA cells from the compartment.

Insert two new AA cells in the compartment, orienting each cell so its flat-end (-) negative faces a spring for it in each chamber.

Slide the battery door back on, and be done with it.
Aren't you glad you didn't huck that battery door into the graveyard with all those stinky zombies with full bladders now?

Current usage measures 105.60mA on my DMM's 400mA scale.
This equates to ~5.87mA per LED.

These light sets appear at least *reasonably* durable, in that they should not just fall apart on their own or through just casual handling. However, the wires are thin and appear to be solid, not stranded -- so you'll definitely not want to bend them too sharply too many times in the same place or else metal fatigue could become and issue and cause light string breakage.

This product is meant to be used as a Halloween light string, not as a flashlight meant to be carried around, thrashed, used, and abused; so I won't try to flush them down the toilet, bash them against the concrete floor of a patio or a steel rod, let our household's five kitty cats uranate (go to the litterbox) on them, run over them with a 450lb Quickie Pulse 6 (motorised wheelchair), or perform other indecencies on them that a regular flashlight might have to go through.

The light string itself is waterproof and even submersible; the battery box however IS NOT!!! and should be kept in a dry area.

The LEDs aren't dome-shaped like you'd expect; instead, they're lensless SMD LEDs - this helps the lights to be visible at much greater viewing angles than a standard dome-shaped LED would allow.

Photograph of the light set on the floor -- illuminurinated of course.

Photograph of the light set in the cistern (toliet tank) to prove that yes, the string itself is really submersible. Note if you will that the battery box is in a dry area (the back left corner of the top of the cistern in this case) -- only the light string is submerged.

I chose the cistern because it is the deepest water that I have ready access to. This is the clean part of the water closet; the water here is actually potable (drinkable) if you do not use an "in-tank" toliet bowl cleaner.

UPDATE: 00-00-00

Higher-than-expected intensity lamps for a battery-powered set
String itself is waterproof ands even submersible
Batteries it needs are easily available and relatively inexpen$ive

Battery box has a somewhat "chintzy" feel especially when empty
Current usage measures just ~5.87mA per LED yet they're brighter than expected

Battery box is ***NOT*** submersible
Light string may be somewhat easily breakable because it uses solid wire instead of stranded wire
