Jumbo Jewel Patriotic Flashing Ring, retail $3.99 (http://www.partycity.com*)

The Jumbo Jewel Patriotic Flashing Ring is a rather large and gaudy ring that you would put on for 4th of July celebrations -- I say "4th of July" because when you press down on it, it begins flashing rather brilliantly with red, white, and blue LEDs -- patriotic colors for those in the United States of America.

Place the ring on your finger much like you'd put any other ring on.
Press down on the ring and then release it to turn the LEDs on.
Press down on the ring and then release it again to neutralise it.
The ring in its natural habitat -- on my finger of course.
Note how large and gaudy the "stone" is.
This ring appears to be disposable; there is no obvious way to change the batteries in it when they poop out. So this section of the web page will not be necessary.
This was intended to be a disposable product, so even if you do manage to break it, just throw it away and go get another one. At $2.99 apiece, it certainly won't break the bank.
And at $2.99 apiece, I was rather surprised to find it has BLUE and WHITE LEDs in it. I expected to find red LEDs in it, but when I turned it on before purchase, it were those blue & white LEDs that clinched the sale.
Because this is a disposable ring and not a flashlight meant to be thrashed and abused, I won't try to drown it in the toilet, smash it against a concrete sidewalk, huck it at one of those wall-mounted porcelain uranators to see if it explodes (the ring, not the walltoliet!), throw it against a wall, stomp on it, sit down hard on it, or otherwise abuse it. So this portion of the web page will be more bare than this section of the web page on a page about a flashlight.
It feels somewhat constrictive on all but my pinkie finger; on that finger it actually feels ok.
It is significantly brighter than I expected it to be -- quite dazzling actually!!!
Photograph of the ring ("illuminurinated" of course!) -- red LED on.
Photograph of the ring with blue LED shown lighted.
