LANTERN STRING LIGHTS

Lantern String Lights, retail $9.99
Manufactured by Lucerne North America, LLC for Gemmy

The Lantern String Lights is a string of phosphor white LEDs inside of "eyeball-shaped" plastic globes.
The "eyeballs" flash with slightly different times, ao they just don't all blink in unison.

It features 10 phosphor white LEDs, and the set operates from a trio of AA cells, so there is no fire and shock hazard.

Feed the lights first (see directly below), and then you can go decorate that window.

String these up as you would ordinary (corded) seasonal lights. Hang them on the inside of windows, on sheltered porches, mantles, doorways, or other places where you might normally hang holiday light sets.

To turn them on, slide that little black switch on the upper right front of the battery box toward the "on" legend (toward the right).

To neutralise them, slide the switch to the "off" position (toward the left).

To change the batteries, use a small Phillips screwdriver to unscrew & loosen the screw holding the battery door on (the screw is at least partially captive, and should stay in the door if you use at least a modicum of care here). Swing the battery door up, remove it, buy yourself an airline ticket and fly yourself plus the battery door to Hollywood (put it in checked baggage if necessary), bring it to the set of the new movie, "Halloween V: Season of the Bitch", have the special effects crew grind it into microscopic bits to have those itty bitty bits implanted into millions of Kotex and Tampax tampons, and...
O WAIT!!! YOU'LL NEED THAT!!! So save your airfare & just set it aside instead.

If necessary, remove and dispose of or recycle the three used AA cells from the compartment.

Insert three new AA cells in the compartment, orienting each cell so its flat-end (-) negative faces a spring for it in each chamber.

Place the the battery door back on, swing it shut, tighten that screw, and be done with it.
Aren't you glad that you didn't fly that battery door to Hollywood where it would get ground into microscopic bits for the sake of some phoney-bologna fake Halloween movie now?

These light sets appear at least *reasonably* durable, in that they should not just fall apart on their own or through just casual handling.

This product is meant to be used as a Halloween light string in a dry area, not as flashlight meant to be thrashed, trashed, and abused, so I won't throw them against the wall, stomp on them, try to drown them in the toylet bowl or the cistern, run over them, swing them against the concrete floor of a patio, use a medium claw hammer (aka. a carpenter's hammer) in order to bash them open to check them for candiosity, fire them from the cannoñata (I guess I've been watching the TV program "Viva Piñata" too much again - candiosity is usually checked with a scanner-type device on a platform with a large readout, a handheld wand that Langston Lickatoad uses, or a pack-of-cards-sized device that Fergy Fudgehog uses; and the cannoñata is only used to shoot piñatas to piñata parties away from picturesque Piñata Island), send them to the Daystrom Institute for additional analysis, or inflict upon them punishments that flashlights may have inflicted upon them. So this section of the Lantern String Lights' web page will seem ***SIGNIFICANTLY*** more bare than this section of the web page on a page about a flashlight.

The wires on this light set are quite comparable in diameter to the wires found on corded sets, so you need not handle the Lantern String Lights like an egg. Don't just reef on them or else they might become broken -- but that kind of abuse would very likely spell the end for corded light sets too.
