This is a Perfect Petzzz®, the orange tabby kitten (they're available in several species of dog as well).

I've decided to name this guy Neelix after the cook / morale officer on the starship Voyager from Star Trek: Voyager.

He comes with a pet bed, a cardboard pet carrier, and a certificate of adoption -- he even comes with the D cell installed and ready to activate as soon as you remove the red plastic insulator tab from his underside.

What makes Neelix unique is that he actually "breathes" -- that is, you can see the side of his abdomen expand and contract at a rate of approximately 0.3Hz (one complete "breath" every three seconds or so). The YourTube video below demonstrates this.

As far as I'm able to determine (mainly by sound) there is a small, low-current pump inside that repeatedly fills & empties a small bladder, which gives the illusion of breathing.
