THE LED MUSEUM IS GOING MAINLY ARCHIVAL!!!

No, this is not a joke.
Yes, you read that correctly.

After more than nine years of operation, The LED Museum will be going mainly "archival-only" on 12-01-08.

The reason for this somewhat closure is that my parents (who I live with mainly for financial reasons) are absolutely, positively, 100% adamant that I dispose of most of my flashlights by late-December 2008 (prior to our move to the Federal Way / Tukwila / Auburn area {~25 to 35 miles SE of Seattle WA. USA} close to New Year's Eve 2008) - I'll be keeping most of the lasers however.

My stepmother said "
We're not spending $10,000.00 to move a flashlight" (her words, not mine here).

This move is unfortunately though only temporary (approximately one year) then it's back to Sacramento CA. USA.

In addition to the lasers, I'll be keeping most of the SureFire products, all prototypes and "one-ofs", most homebrew modifications, all products made by people who have since died, all of my R/C aircraft, all scrolling name badges, and most other scrolling LED products (the Boogie Lights and the Electronic Message Billboard are two that will be discarded).

Update The Day this Website Died :-( (12-01-08)
Today is "Beelzemon's Big Day" {obscure Digimon reference here} - this website is now officially mainly archival-only; however I will still be testing LEDs (providing beam photographs, Vf and If measurements, intensity measurements, performing spectroscopy and {when possible} beam cross-sectional analyses) -- and evaluating small lasers much as I always have.

Evaluations of flashlights and other products (other than small lasers) are now only being performed if the sender pays for return shipping. "The Smack Test" and "The Immersion Test" will only be performed with explicit written consent (not just implied oral consent) and the sender agrees to the product's return even if one or both tests result in damage to the unit that would prohibit its resale.

The decision to scale back like this *** IS NOT *** mine; my parents (whom I live with primarily for financial reasons) are absolutely, positively, 100% adamant that I dispose of much of my existing test stock and limit new evaluations to only those products for which return shipping is paid.
