The Luxeon III Tactical Flashlight, model LL7447 (hereinafter, just called a "flashlight"), is an LED flashlight that uses a 3 watt Luxeon LED behind a plastic lens in it's "business-end".

It comes in an almost all-aluminum body, covered with a Type II anodizing for protection, is turned on & off with a metal pushbutton on the barrel, and has three C cells in its barrel to feed that LED with.

This flashlight is ready to use right out of the package; batteries are included and already installed.

Press the button on the barrel firmly until it clicks and then release it to turn it on.

Press and release the button the same way again to turn the flashlight on back off.

There is no momentary or signalling mode available when the flashlight is off, however, you can blink the flashlight while it is on by partially depressing the button. If you don't mind the backward or reverse feeling of this, you can blink the flashlight this way.

The flashlight comes with a wrist strap; which can be affixed to a small ring on the flashlight's tailcap if you wish.

The flashlight comes with a nylon holster with a zippered top; the flashlight fits the holster bezel-up. This holster is equipped with a spring-loaded clip that fits belts up to 1.75" wide, pants wastebands, or other locations with a flexible edge.



To change the batteries when necessary, unscrew and remove the tailcap, throw it to the ground, look at it all funny, cock your head like a puppy that doesn't understand what it had just been told, and stomp on it with old or used football shoes...O WAIT!!! YOU'LL NEED THAT!!! So just set it aside instead.

Tip the used C cells into your hand, and dispose of or recycle them as you see fit.

Insert three new C cells in the barrel, button-end (+) positive first. Screw the tailcap back on, and be done with it.

This flashlight appears at least fairly durable, and it is. When I beat the devil out of the poor, innocent flashlight (ten whacks against the corner of a concrete stair: 5 smacks against the side of the bezel and 5 smacks against the side of the tailcap), only the expected damage was found (which was totally expected from such a large and heavy instrument). There is some minor gouging on the sides of the bezel and tailcap where it was struck. No optical or electrical malfunctions were detected.

There is a clear Type II anodized finish over all of the exposed aluminum; this should help keep the flashlight looking newer for longer, even if it goes up against coins, keys, or other flashlights during carriage or storage.

The flashlight appears to be weather- and water-resistant at the very least. When I removed the tailcap, relieved the barrel of its batteries, and then performed that dreadful suction test, only a small amount of leakage was detected. So if it fell into shallow water, just shake it off and keep going. And you need not be concerned about using it in rain or snow. And if it fell next to the mailbox and the dog pissed on it, just take the garden hose to it or douche it off under the faucet...good as new!

Just try not to drop it in water more than several inches deep, and you ought to be OK.

The light output by this flashlight is a very-nearly pure white, with no red, pink, yellow, blue, purple, or "rotten dolphin urine green" tint to it. Not in the hotspot; not in the corona (as oddly-shaped as that might be) either.
