These light sets are being sold as "l.e.d. micro light set" at Target stores; these sets were found in a Target store in the central-eastern part of the United States (the state of Ohio, to be specific) for $4.99 each.

The light sets contain 18 (eighteen) 3mm LEDs, powered by four AA cells inside a battery pack.

 SIZE

Feed the lights first (see directly below), and then you can deck the halls.

String these up as you would oridinary (corded) Christmas lights, but handle them carefully because the wires are considerably thinner than the wires are on corded sets. Hang them on Christmas trees, mantles, doorways, or other places where you might normally hang light sets.

These lights are explicitely labelled as being "for indoor use only", so you don't want to hang them on the outside of your house or on bushes in the yard.

To turn them on, slide that little black switch on the upper-right side of the battery box to the "on" position (toward the edge of the battery box). To turn them off, slide the switch to the "off" position (toward the center of the battery box).

To change the batteries, unscrew and remove the small phillips screw from the underside of the battery box, and set it aside.

Slide the battery door off in the direction of the screw hole, and set that aside too.

If necessary, remove and dispose of or recycle the 4 used AA cells from the compartment.

Insert four new AA cells in the compartment, orienting each cell so its flat-end (-) negative faces a spring for it in each chamber.

Slide the battery door back on, and screw in the screw you removed at the beginning of your battery change.

Measures 71mA (white) and 88mA (multicolored)

These light sets appear at least *reasonably* durable, in that they should not just fall apart on their own or through just casual handling.

These products are meant to be used as Christmas lights in a dry area, not as flashlights meant to be carried around, thrashed, used, and abused; so I won't try to flush them down the toilet, bash them against the corner of a concrete stair or a steel rod, let my housemate's kitty cat's ghost go to the bathroom on them, run over them with a 400lb Rascal, or perform other indecencies that a regular flashlight might have to go through.

The multicolored sets have LED colors of red, amberish-yellow, emerald green, and blue.

These sets have a lighted length of 7.4' (2.2 meters).

TEST NOTES:
Test units were sent by a fan of the website on 10-14-05 and were received on 10-17-05.

Products were made in China. A product's country of origin really does matter to some people, which is why I published it on this web page.
