TWINTASK 1L

TwinTask 1L, retail $21.00 (www.streamlight.com...)

The Streamlight TwinTask 1L is a small flashlight that features both an incandescent light bulb and three 5mm white LEDs. You can select incandescent or LEDs from a single pushbutton switch on the barrel.

The lamps and texturised reflector are protected by a sturdy plastic window, and the entire thing feeds from a single CR123A cell held in the TwinTask's aluminum barrel.

 SIZE

Feed the TwinTask first if necessary (see directly below), and then you can go to town.

Firmly press & release the button on the barrel to turn the incandescent lamp on.
Do the same to turn the incandescent off.
Do the same to turn the LEDs on.
Do the same to turn the LEDs off.

Lather, rinse, repeat. In other words, the next time you press the button, the incandescent comes on.

Unscrew the tailcap, gently place it on the ground, and kick it in the garden so the praying mantids will think it's something yummy to eat and strike at it...O WAIT!!! YOU'LL NEED THAT!!! So just set it aside instead.

Tip the barrel into your hand, and allow the old CR123A cell to come out. Dispose of or recycle it as you see fit.

Insert a new CR123A cell in the barrel, button-end (+) positive end first, and screw the tailcap firmly back on.
Aren't you glad you didn't kick that tailcap into the garden with all those hungry, hungry praying mantids now?

Sooner or later you're going to blow out the bulb and need to change it.

Unscrew and remove the bezel (head), and remove the reflector.

Pull the burnt out bulb straight up, and get rid of it. Light bulbs are not yet recyclable, so that's why I did not offer that option here.

Insert a new bulb, pins-first, into the two holes in the receptacle for it. Push it straight down until it stops - do not twist it.

Place the reflector back on; orienting it so the LEDs are directly under the holes for them in the reflector. Screw the bezel back on, and there, you're done.

The Streamlight TwinTask 1L appears to be very well built, and should survive most common flashlight accidents without so much as a scratch. It's also water resistant, and you should not worry about using it in the rain or snow; or dropping it in a mud puddle, creek, or snowbank. Just take the garden hose to it if it falls in mud and becomes dirty.
Or just douche it off under the faucet if somebody or something pisses on it.

TEST NOTES:
As a "thank you", a long-time fan of this website sent me this flashlight among several other items (a SureFire E1e, seven "3-to-D" battery adapters, a HELIOS, and some incandescent flashlight blubs along with the TwinTask), so it's only fair that this TwinTask make the big time - being published on this web page!!!

All products were received on 07-08-06.
