This product does not emit light of its own (much like this spectrometer and this spectrometer too), so the standard review format will not be used and the product will be assigned a rating at once.
The Edmund Scientific Rainbow Glasses are paper glasses with diffraction gratings where the lenses would normally be found.
What they do is split light into its component spectra; for white light, this would yield you an image with "rainbow" splotches at eight different angles from the light source: 45°, 90°, 135°, 180°, 225°, 270°, 315°, and 360°.
* This price is for a package of six (6) pairs. This equates to a price of approximately 49˘ per pair.
Just put them on as you'd put on an ordinary pair of eyeglasses.
There are no batteries or switches to fuss with or forget.
Test unit was sent by a website fan in (I believe) 2000.
I used them to view spectra of various light sources until I got "My First Spectrometer™" in 2001.
