These are novelty sunglasses with ten LEDs (4 red, 4 blue, and two green) that have two flashing modes and one steady mode.

The sunglasses have transparent plastic frames and tinted (smoky) lenses; they feed from three LR44 button cells.

To use these sunglasses, pull the insulating tab out of the battery compartment at the end of the right-hand earpiece.

Put them on as you would put on ordinary pair of sunglasses.

On the left-hand earpiece near the rear, there is a red pushbutton switch.
Press & release it once to flash the LEDs rapidly (~5Hz), do it again to flash the LEDs more slowly (~2.5Hz), do it again to run the LEDs in steady-on mode, and finally, do it again to turn the sunglasses off.



At the end of the right-hand temple, you'll see a battery compartment. Using a small phillips screwdriver, unscrew & remove the tiny screw and remove it. Set it aside.

Lift the battery door off, gently place it on the ground, and and kick it into the garden so the hungry, hungry praying mantids will think it's something yummy for their insect tummies and subsequently strike at it...O WAIT!!! YOU'LL NEED THAT!!! So just set it aside instead.

Remove the three used AG13 (LR44) button cells, and dispose of or recycle them as you see fit.

Insert three new LR44 button cells into the compartment, orienting them so that the flat-ends (+) positives of each cell face the spring in the compartment (toward the front of the sunglasses).

Place the battery door back on, insert that tiny screw, and ***GENTLY*** tighten it until it is firm only. Do not overtighten it or else you'll probably strip the threads in the screw receptacle.
Aren't you glad you didn't kick that battery door into the garden with all those hungry, hungry praying mantids now?

This is a pair of novelty light-up sunglasses, not a flashlight meant to be carried around, thrashed, and abused. So I won't try to whack them against a steel rod or against the concrete floor of a patio, stomp on them, try to drown them in a wall-mounted porcelain urinator, run over them, or inflict other punishments upon them that I might inflict upon a flashlight. So this section of its web page will be rather bare, when compared to this section of the web page on a page about a flashlight.

"Steady on" mode really isn't steady at all; the LEDs strobe very rapidly because of PWM (pulse width modulation). This helps to extend the life of those tiny batteries.

These sunglasses came to me broken; I performed a temporary repair with superglue, a sewing needle, and a thin cardboard strip from the packaging of another product so that I could shoot the photographs & the movie clip on this web page.

These sunglasses are so cool, I'm going to purchase another pair so I can actually *USE* them and complete this evaluation.

The replacement sunglasses were indeed purchased yesterday; I should have them in 10 to 12 days.
Once I receive them, and if they are not broken upon receipt like these were, I'll remove that dreadful "" icon from their listings on this website.
