The iLite is a small computer light that plugs directly into a USB port; it was specifically designed to be used with an Oqo mini-computer - they're like a color palm pilot with a USB port in it.

The iLite comes in a soft plastic body, with (of course) a metal connector that connects it to the USB port.

 SIZE

To use the iLite, just remove it from the package and plug it into any free USB port on your Oqo handheld computer. Or you can plug it into a USB port on your laptop or desktop computer if it'll do you any good there. Yes, it really is that easy.

You can swivel the LED around on its stalk a bit (45°), so it can be aimed exactly where you need the light to be shone. It has a wide beam, so you don't need to be exact here.

This light is "hot swappable", meaning you do not have to turn your computer off before plugging it in or unplugging it. Most USB devices are hot swappable, so no surprise here.

Because this light draws all the power it needs from your computer's USB port, this section can and will be skipped.

I cannot take a current measurement without breaking or cutting the light, so I cannot provide that figure for you.

The iLite is designed to be a computer peripheral, so I won't try to stomp on it with spiked golf shoes, drown it in the commode, slam it against the corner of a concrete stair, run over it with a 400lb electric wheelchair, let the cat go potty on it, or subject it to any other indecencies that a regular flashlight may have to endure.

Despite its delicate appearance, the iLite seems to be reasonably durable and well-made.

As quoted from the website:

Want the best light for the Oqo? Then meet the iLite. I searched long and hard to find a small easy to aim USB light just for the Oqo. There are over a hundred usb lights on the market. Most are snake type lights the rest tend to be wired. I ordered a good 20 usb lights and the iLite is one you want if you own an Oqo.

Now, I have no idea what an Oqo is, as I've never heard of it. But I'll guess that it's a laptop computer with a side-mounted USB port.
O, now I know what an Oqo is. Please visit www.oqo.com and you can see for yourself. It's like a palm pilot that has a color screen - and obviously at least one USB port.

I don't have a computer with a side-mounted USB port, so I did the best I could: connected the iLite to my Toshiba 460CDT Satellite Pro laptop computer with a USB port on the back and then took this.

The LED is only an inch or so away from the lid on the laptop computer in this photograph; the LED has a significantly wider beam than what it appears from this photograph.
